Grace Christian Preschool provides a caring and secure environment where children learn about Jesus and the love he has for them. This is the foundation and fundamental basis for our program. Additionally, children are provided opportunities to develop age-appropriate skills based on their individual ability level.

About our classroom:
Claudia always dreamed of being a teacher. As a teen, she assisted teachers in the elementary school in their classrooms during her study halls. Upon graduation, she attended IUP and acquired a BS degree in Home Economics with a concentration in Child Development. She continued on to earn her Master’s Degree in Child Development and the Family and as a graduate assistant, she taught Child Development to the undergrad students. She took coursework on becoming an Administrator of a Childcare Center. Without experience to acquire such a position, she taught Home Economics for 4 years, then taught Basic Living Skills to Adults with Special Needs for 3 years. God blessed her with an opportunity to return to school to earn an Early Childhood teaching certificate and she immediately acquired a Kindergarten teaching position beginning at Marion Center and eventually Indiana Area School District. She continued her education to learn new strategies of teaching and how to individualize instruction. Claudia loved her job! Her License Plate for many years was LUVKIDS.
Instructional Assistant: Stacy Bartlebaugh
Stacey has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is an all-around educator and business manager. She has her own personal training business and through this career choice, she has enjoyed teaching exercise classes to children, teens, and adults at the YMCA and outreach programs. She has also helped organize programs for children at Homer Center School. Stacey has just recently joined the staff as the assistant teacher. However, she has jumped in with both feet, offering her creativity and enthusiasm, and demonstrates total enjoyment in assisting in the 3-year-old classroom.
Morning Assistant: Mary Helen Taylor
Mary Helen has a BS degree in Elementary Education. She taught in schools locally for over 30 years as a dedicated teacher of young children. Today she is retired and spends much of her time caring for her grandchildren. However, Mary Helen spends her Tuesday and Thursday mornings greeting our little ones as they come in the door and assisting with preparations for the day. She is a valuable presence during free play as she assists with puzzles and games and reads stories before the school day begins. The children look forward to seeing her every day.

Administrator: Pastor Marty Christian
The Administrator of Grace Christian Preschool is Pastor Marty who was instrumental in developing this new program in the church. He has been the Children’s Ministry Pastor at Grace Church for the past 7 years. His ministry involves coordinating all Children’s Sunday School and Kids Church programs in our church, organizing an After School Program 1 day each week, coordinating the summer Bible School Program, and other special Children’s events throughout the year.
